This seaweed has a mild and very pleasant taste and can be used in various dishes. It is an ideal complement to salads, stews or can be served as a side dish. Sautéed with carrots, onions, shiitake, daikon or combined with fried tofu, boiled rice, millet and barley.
As this seaweed is rather hard, it should be soaked during 5 minutes, then sautéed in a small amount of oil and soya sauce. Add water and let it cook during 15-20 minutes.
Once cooked, it can be kept in the refrigerator several days and is very decorative in a mixed salad.
